Leeds United is still hoping to play in the Premier League, even though Barnsley, Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Harrogate Town, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Middlesbrough, Rotherham United, Sheffield United, and Wednesday are all assured places in the Football League for the forthcoming season.

It will make public its 2024–2025 season schedule the following month. With 24 games guaranteed for every Championship club and a substantial increase in the number of lower-league games aired, there will be more games on television than ever before, but there will also be more disruptions.

The league has promised that it will confirm all broadcast matches until the FA Cup third-round weekend and that it will proclaim all televised games until September when it issues the fixture list, before the season starts on August 9. The Premier League season is expected to begin the following weekend.

Due to United’s relegation and Wednesday’s Championship survival, there will be a Sheffield derby for the first time in five years. However, Barnsley was eliminated from the League One play-off quarterfinals after losing to Bolton Wanderers 5-4 on aggregate.

Given that Doncaster is predicted to get to the League Two play-off final and Huddersfield and Rotherham to the third level, the Reds might see a lot more Yorkshire derbies in the future. The Reds haven’t played in a single Yorkshire derby this season.
