Why Man City haven’t been punished over 115 alleged charges as Everton sanctioned again

Man City are yet to find out if they will be punished by the Premier League after being charged with 115 alleged financial breaches.

Everton have been hit with a further two-point penalty by the Premier League this week following a breach of profit and sustainability regulations (PSR). The punishment, which Everton say they will appeal, comes after the club admitted to a financial loss of £16.6million more than the permitted £105m that top-flight clubs can make over a given three-year period.

It is a decision which has been made while charges currently hang over Manchester City, leaving football fans up and down the country wondering exactly what is going on.The Toffees have been punished over the loss for the three-year cycle up to the 2022-23 season. They feel they are subject to a “double punishment” having already been handed a deduction of 10 points earlier this season for losses accrued over three years up to the 2021-22 season.

That points deduction was subsequently reduced to six upon appeal.
