Sargeant Dayne Campbell of the Vancouver Police Department, who is cycling across Canada to raise money for cancer research, was welcomed by the Collingwood OPP on Saturday.

Sgt. Campbell aims to raise $50,000, and as of his fundraising page on cancer.ca, he has already raised over $42,000 to help finance pediatric cancer research by the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sgt. Campbell continues, saying that he is biking for his teenage daughter, who has been given a cancer diagnosis. In addition, he believes that his cause will spur more initiatives in the eastern provinces and increase awareness of Cops for Cancer (CFC).

According to Sgt. Campbell’s GoFundMe page, he arrived at Bradford West Gwillimbury about noon on Sunday after leaving Barrie in the morning.

In 60 days, he intends to finish his cross-country trip.
