Even though Reading is having financial difficulties and fans are hopeful that owner Dai Yongge will sell the Berkshire team as soon as possible, Ruben Selles and most of his young players are having success on the game.
Although it is unclear what the third-division team’s future holds, Selles has persisted in trying to get the best out of the players at his disposal and has performed admirably at the League One team despite challenging conditions.
At this point, Selles is working with one hand bound behind his back. On paper, the Royals have a respectable starting lineup, and they continue to see some outstanding young players. Due to their small squad, Selles has been obliged to throw a lot of kids into the action earlier than anticipated.
Unfortunately, the Royals’ ownership predicament has forced them to utilise square pegs in round holes, as the EFL only allowed them to acquire one player during the summer transfer window. The only other man to join was Chem Campbell, who filled a void left by Femi Azeez’s departure.Reading need to loan out some of their stars
The club will eventually aim to be able to hire more senior players, but until current owner Yongge sells the team, they most likely won’t be able to add any more players. They are doing a decent job right now given their ownership issue and lack of summer additions, but it is preventing some players from leaving on loan until more players of first team calibre have joined the team.
Even so, there are still a few players who don’t play frequently enough, and some who require a loan move to advance their careers away from Berkshire for the time being. Johnny Hunt, a Reading fan commentator for FLW, was asked to provide his opinions on who deserves to be loaned out in January and why.
“I think a lot of young fringe players there would benefit from a move,” he stated.
However, Coniah Boyce-Clarke, the keeper, is the one we ought to focus on developing.
“He clearly has a lot of promise, but in order to gain more knowledge about the game, he has to play a few League Two games.
“I believe he has had some difficulty learning at the men’s football level.
“He always seems to make mistakes in the few appearances he has made.
“But that will come with experience, so I think that would be the best move at this time.”
RLewis Wing should be omitted from the starting lineup against Cheltenham Town, with the midfielder earning a deserved rest at the weekend.
Not every young player has flourished after being put in the spotlight in League One, but Selles has done his magic and has Reading playing some amazing football.
They recently lost 1-0 at home to Leyton Orient, which was upsetting, but the only reason they lost the game was a serious goalkeeping blunder. Although Boyce-Clarke was at fault, he has long been regarded as a promising player in Reading’s lineup and is currently at a critical juncture in his growth.
Even though he has shown signs of promise, he won’t get the playing time he needs to advance if he frequently fills in for Joel Pereira. He might obtain important first-team experience with a loan move, which could be essential for
